Creating musicals in the metaverse
We provided Producing services for this a non-linear musical within the metaverse: Madame X.
We explored a hybrid approach R&D presentation of a musical within a browser-based VR platform for Imminent XR. The musical, Madame X, follows the story of John Singer Sargent’s famous painting.
Writer and West-End/ Broadway Lyricist Mary Stewart David’s goal is to create live entertainment within virtual environments (the metaverse.) Mary founded Imminent XR alongside PhD research at the University of York. The latest project developed a workflow using virtual production, games engine and a browser-based VR platform. We spent 5 weeks managing a the technical and design process ahead of a presentation of the Research & Development phase in January.
Audiences experience a ‘hub and spoke’ storytelling environment where they can explore the narrative in a non-linear fashion. The story unfolds through scenes and songs positioned within the rooms of the storyplex.
